Gloomy Jones Lake

Magic happens when a whole crew of PNW-centric photographers gather in the mountains to hang out, discuss nerdy stuff, and of course shoot a ton of photos together.

On this very gloomy Saturday afternoon, we took off for one of our favourite spots. It was a classic set up of lifted 4x4's, canoeing, and a raging fire.

One of the topics that came up is the negative effects of promoting locations on social media. Photography has allowed us to highlight the amazing scenery in our area and encourage people to get out and enjoy the world. In the case of Jones Lake, the negative effects are in the form of increased garbage. We were saddened to see all sorts of garbage left along the shoreline. We are so lucky to have a spot like Jones for camp outs, but I'd like to see it stay beautiful. I want to encourage everyone to resist leaving garbage behind when they head out into the wilderness!
